ProfessorNic Bax is currently a Senior Principal Research Scientist with CSIRO’s Oceans and Atmosphere Flagship and Director of the National Environmental Science Program Marine Biodiversity Hub at the Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies, University of Tasmania. He has led research into fisheries and ecosystem assessments, invasive species, biodiversity management and the transfer of research into policy. Professor Bax works closely with the Convention on Biological Diversity and co-chairs the Global Ocean Observing Systems Biology and Ecosystems Panel.
